Porthyraur is a perfectly positioned base for exploring with the Llyn Peninsula, Eryri (Snowdonia), Anglesey, Caernrfon Bay, Cardigan Bay, the Menai Strait and the Northern Coat of Wales all being within driving distance.
We have found North Wales to be a very dog friendly area with dogs being welcomed rather than tolerated.
Dogs are welcome on public transport, both on trains and buses, making it even easier to explore the local area an leave the car behind!
Criccieth itself is a great place for dogs (if ours could talk they would tell you how much they love it).
We welcome up to 2 well behaved dogs at no cost as a perk for booking direct.
North Wales in generally dog friendly with dogs being free of charge on buses and welcome at many eating places and tourist attractions.
We have 2 secure garden areas, one for the cottage and one for the studio so any dogs visiting will have their own separate spaces!
Dogs- we would prefer dogs not to be left unattended. If they are left and any damage is caused as per our terms and conditions, we reserve the right to charge for such damage accordingly. Dogs are not allowed upstairs and if on furniture please protect it with your own blankets. Please ensure the garden is kept free from dog mess and we would really appreciate it if you could put your dog waste in the local public bins when out and about.
Equipment provided at our dog-friendly accommodation in North Wales –
There are dog bowls for guests use that can be found in the utility cupboards or kitchen
Dog crates are also available if needed (in under stairs cupboard).
If you need to wash your dog there is a mud daddy in the beach hut and some dog shampoo.
Please ensure you keep the garden gate closed to keep your best friends safe
You will also need to be careful when using the drive and going to and from the car as this is not gated.
Please keep the garden area clean and tidy- we try and provide poop bags but the Star convenience store also sells Poop bags. We also keep some in the utility room for emergencies.
We hope that your dogs love the beaches as much as ours do. Some of the beaches have seasonal restrictions for dogs and they are not allowed between April until the start of October. However, there are still plenty of beach for them to play on when you stay at Porthyraur dog friendly accommodation in North Wales .
The walk past Marine Terrace and round the coastal path towards the estuary is wonderful. Please be mindful of livestock and any gaps in the hedges along the cliffs. There is also another path accessed behind Dylan’s at the end of Promenade beach that can be followed all the way to Black Rock sands.We also love the river walk from the Lloyd George Grave in LLandystumdwy.
